PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Hilbert FR Griffin McAndrews played a vital role this week for the Hawks out of the bullpen, picking up both a win and save. On Tuesday, he tossed 1.2 scoreless innings of relief to pickup the win at Pitt-Bradford. Then on Saturday, McAndrews came in with the Hawks leading La Roche 4-2 and the bases loaded and got a big strikeout to get out of the jam. He proceeded to throw the final 10 outs of the game, striking out five batters and did not allow a single run to earn his second save of the season. The right-hander finished the week with a .167 batting average against after allowing just three hits over two appearances. McAndrews is now 1-0 with a pair of saves over 8.0 innings pitched in conference play and has yet to allow a run.

 

BEST OF THE REST: Alfred State SR AJ Gartland recorded his first shutout of the season in the Pioneers' 4-0 win over Penn St.-Altoona on Sunday to pick up his third win of the season, as he pitched the complete seven innings in game one and faced 24 batters, while only allowing one hit, three walks and struck out five...Mount Aloysius JR Douglas Cannon had a strong performance out of the bullpen for the Mounties, steering them to their extra-inning victory over Penn State Behrend -- entering in the eighth inning, Cannon threw 4.2 innings, without allowing a run, while recording two strikeouts and allowing five hits, but keeping the Lions off the scoreboard long enough for the Mounties to walk-off in the bottom of the 11th inning and earn the win...PS-Behrend JR Jeff Zick continued his dominance on the mound, earning the win in Wednesday's start against Mount Aloysius, as he was an out away from a complete game, but tossed 6.2 strong innings, allowing just one run on five hits, he fanned four batters and dropped his ERA to a conference-leading 2.01...Medaille SO Samuel Beutler started against Chatham University pitching a total of 4.2 innings, recording a 5.79 ERA, allowing five hits while striking out two batters and averaging 3.86 strikeouts per nine innings.
