June 05, 2024Penn State Behrend freshman third baseman David Gibson was named the 2024 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Year, while freshman pitcher Jake Manendo earned a spot on the All-ECAC Team. -

May 17, 2024A Daniel Boehme three-run home run was the eventual game-winning hit in a 10-4 victory for the Penn State Behrend (29-11-1) baseball team over the host No. 3 Baldwin Wallace University (36-9) in the first game of the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament Friday afternoon. -

May 06, 2024Kinney made two appearances for the the Píos last week. He pitched 6.1 innings for an ERA of 1.42, and six strikeouts. He help the Pioneers secure a win against Penn State Altoona in extra innings holding them to only one hit and striking out two. -
Dylan Barnes, Penn State Behrend, Baseball (Player)
May 06, 2024Barnes went 4-for-6 (.667 average) in two games last week, recording two doubles, a home run, and four RBI. He hit his third long ball of the season and led the Lions with three runs-batted in against Mount Union in the regular season finale. -
PIONEERS SWEEP ALTOONA IN AMCC OPENING ROUND
May 05, 2024The Alfred State College baseball team survived and advanced with a sweep over Penn State Altoona in the AMCC Opening Round. The Pioneers walked off game one in the 11th 5-4, then won game two 6-5. -
#6 LA ROCHE SWEEPS #3 HILBERT IN AMCC TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND
May 03, 2024La Roche University baseball opened the AMCC Tournament in the best of three first round on Friday in doubleheader action against #3 Hilbert. In game one, the Redhawks pulled out a 7-5 victory in 11 innings, then the #6 seed upended the host in game two, taking it 11-1 to sweep the Hawks and advance to the AMCC Championship Round. -
BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT KICKS OFF THIS WEEKEND
May 03, 2024The AMCC Baseball Championship Tournament begins this weekend with first round games when No. 5 Penn State Altoona travels to No. 4 Alfred State College and No. 3 Hilbert College hosts No. 6 La Roche University. -

April 29, 2024Jones was the driving force in La Roche's postseason clinching victory in game two against Alfred State on Sunday. The graduate student put the Redhawks on his back, tossing a complete game, allowing seven hits and one unearned run to go alongside no walks and nine strikeouts, as well as picking up three defensive assists and a WHIP of 0.78. -
Patrick Whelan, Hilbert College, Baseball (Player)
April 29, 2024Whelan logged five multi-hit games this past week for the Hawks. The Hilbert first baseman reached base safely in 15 of 24 plate appearances, tallying 10 hits, four of which going for extra bases. Whelan finished the week batting an impressive .526 with a .640 on base percentage and .842 slugging percentage. He smacked three doubles and a home run while adding eight RBI, six runs scored and stole two bases. -
Shawn Mannering, Pitt-Bradford, Baseball (Pitcher)
April 22, 2024Mannering had a big week for Pitt-Bradford, picking up two complete game victories over Penn State Behrend and Pitt-Greensburg. Mannering allowed just three earned runs over 14 innings pitched to post a 1.93 ERA while striking out 10 batters. In the win over the Lions, Mannering scattered six hits, allowed one earned run, and struck out five. -
Nolan Evans, Hilbert College, Baseball (Player)
April 22, 2024Evans powered the Hawks to a 5-1 week in league play, propelling them to sole possession of second place in league standings. The junior centerfielder had three multi-hit games and finished the week with a .435 batting average and 1.000 slugging percentage. Evans tallied six extra base hits, including three home runs, while driving in nine runs and scoring eight more. His biggest hit coming in the bottom of the 7th of game one against top seeded Mount Aloysius when he belted a game-tying three-run home run to send the game to extras where the Hawks walked it off in the ninth. Evans now leads the AMCC in league play in triples (2), home runs (4), extra base hits (9), slugging percentage (.854) and OPS (1.345) over 12 games played. -

April 17, 2024The Hilbert College Hawks will travel to Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday to take on the La Roche College Redhawks in the AMCC Baseball Games of the Week. -

April 15, 2024Bailey pitched a complete 7.0 inning shutout in game one of Sunday's double header against Pitt-Greensburg. Baliey tallied eight strikeouts while holding the Bobcats to two hits. -
Silvio Ionadi, Penn State Behrend, Baseball (Player)
April 15, 2024Ionadi finished the week 13-for-17 for a .765 batting average in six games last week. Ionadi recorded 11 RBI, three triples, three doubles, and 13 runs scored. The second-year infielder went 3-for-3 in three different contests and recorded a .727 average in four conference games (8-for-11). -
Chris Mattoon, Alfred State College, Baseball (Pitcher)
April 08, 2024Mattoon pitched a complete 9.0 inning game, only allowing two unearned runs while scattering five hits. Mattoon came away with seven strikeouts on the day in an 8-2 win over PS-Altoona. -
Mac Ciocco, Penn State Behrend, Baseball (Player)
April 08, 2024Ciocco finished 10-for-16 in four games for a .625 average with five extra base hits, including four doubles and a triple. He also added five RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases on the week. On Saturday at Westminster, he recorded two hits and a game-high three runs batted in. In a twinbill at Mount Aloysius, Ciocco went 6-for-9 with two doubles and two RBI. -

Larry Bielawski, La Roche University, Baseball (Pitcher)
April 01, 2024Bielawski was lights out for the Redhawks, leading them to a 2-1 game one victory in Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Pitt-Bradford. In the seven inning opener, Bielawski tossed a complete game, allowing just one run, three hits, one walk and struck out four. Panther batters hit just .130 off Bielawski and he ended the game with a .57 WHIP.
