MT. ALOYSIUS PLAYERS EARN NATIONAL HONORS
Mount Aloysius baseball players Connor Bowie and Brady Wright both earned national recognition on Tuesday as the juniors were both named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for their outstanding performances last week for the Mounties. Only 14 players are chosen in Division III throughout the country for the honor, including just one relief pitcher in Wright and three outfielders including Bowie.

Wright led the Mounties off the mound this week recording a win and a save in two of the Mounties three key AMCC victories. He did not allow a run in three relief appearances, while holding opponents to a .111 batting average over 5.1 innings. Wright also struck out four in 1.2 innings of relief against Division II opponent IUP. Wright is currently 4-1 this season with three saves and a 1.74 ERA out of the Mountie bullpen, and opponents are hitting just .229 against him.

Bowie led the Mounties offensively in conference play as he registered an impressive 1.353 slugging percentage. He broke the single season Mount Aloysius home run record with his seventh of the year against Pitt-Bradford. He also singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th against Pitt-Bradford to secure the #3 seed for the upcoming AMCC playoffs. Bowie's seven home runs on the year ties him for first in the AMCC, and he also leads the conference with 20 stolen bases while sitting at fifth in RBIs with 29. Bowie is hitting an impressive .353 this season and has added five triples and seven doubles.
