PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The No. 8 Carnegie Mellon Tartans scored two first-half goals to defeat Penn State Behrend 2-0 in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

* Alex Adams scored the game-winning goal just two minutes after coming off the bench at the 21:30 mark of the first half
* Gemma Jefferson sent a ball to the corner of the 18-yard box and Adams took a left-footed shot that got past starting goalie Riley Morningstar (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin)
* Adams is tied for second in program history at Carnegie Mellon with 13 game-winning goals
* With 57 seconds left until halftime, Catherine MacNichol put the Tartans ahead by two off a pass from Rachel Legg
* Morningstar made a season-best nine saves in the loss for the Lions
