WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team earned a pair non-conference wins against Waynesburg on Wednesday. The Lions have now won five straight games thanks to an 8-3 game-one win and a 12-5 decision in the nightcap.  

Game One
Scores: Penn State Behrend 8, Waynesburg 3
Records: Penn State Behrend (6-5), Waynesburg (6-7)

Key Moments:

* The Behrend Lions erased a three-run deficit in the first with five runs in the third to stay out front
* The Lions smacked 10 hits, getting two from seniors Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) and Justin Foreman (Oakdale, PA/South Fayette)
* Five of the 10 hits were doubles, while six of the 10 were in the big third inning
* Zack Bowen (Plum Borough, PA/Serra Catholic) got his first double of the season, while Ryan Weaver (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) recorded a two RBI two-bagger with two outs to score the eventual game-winning runs
* Freshman starter Thomas Zbezinski (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland) nearly went the entire game, pitching 6.1 innings and striking out four to get his second win of the season
* Waynesburg had bases loaded in the first and plated three runs early
* Behrend added two more runs in the fifth and another in the sixth

Key Moments:

* The Lions brought the bats in game two, scoring 12 runs on 16 hits
* With a small 7-5 lead after the sixth, Behrend plated five more runs in the final inning
* Senior hurler Ben Ramey (Export, PA/Franklin Regional) pitched his way through 5.1 innings and allowing three runs for the win
* Brennan Keillor (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) registered the save in 1.2 innings of work and two strikouts
* Zack Bowen followed up his first collegiate double with his first home run in a Behrend uniform and finished a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate
* Weaver and Dom Charletta(West Newton, PA/Yough) also tallied three hits in game two
* Mason McGuire (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) drove in two runs on a double, while Joshua Wagner (South Park, PA/South Park) smacked a triple
