GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team split with Pitt-Greensburg in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader on Saturday. The Lions won the opener 12-3 and fell in the nightcap, 8-6.  

Game One (Seven Innings)
Scores: Penn State Behrend 12, Pitt-Greensburg 3
Records: Penn State Behrend (13-6, 3-0 AMCC), Pitt-Greensburg (5-14, 2-3 AMCC)

Key Moments

* The Lions added four runs in the first two innings and then added eight more over the final two for a 12-3 margin
* First baseman Joshua Wagner (South Park, PA/South Park) made his two hits a pair of doubles for four RBIs
* Phil Myers (DuBois, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) threw his second complete game of the season to remain undefeated on the mound at 4-0
* Senior Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) scored four runs, while John Brittner (Zelienople, PA/Seneca Valley) added two hits, two RBIs and three runs
*After scoring two runs in the first, the Lions added another two in the second on three errors by the Bobcats
* Pitt-Greensburg got within two after getting on the scoreboard with two runs in the bottom of the second
* Behrend used two hits to score four runs in the sixth and seventh inning
* In addition to Wagner, Ian Taylor (Wexford, PA/Vincentian Academy) and Mason McGuire (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) also smacked a double on the day

Key Moments:

* The two teams combined to leave 21 runners on base
* Behrend took an early 3-0 lead before Pitt-Greensburg went ahead for good with three runs in the third and four more in the fourth thanks to Ben Green's homer and RBI single
* The Lions produced six runs on 11 hits, including five extra base
* Sada tagged his fourth home run of the season in the top of the third for a three-run lead
* Behrend held the Bobcats scoreless after the fifth inning and added three more runs but it was not enough for the comeback
* Thomas Zbezinski (Gibsonia, PA/Pine Richland) suffered his first loss on the hill today, pitching four innings and striking out two
* Senior Ben Ramey (Export, PA/Franklin Regional) came in and pitched four innings of relief, allowing one earned run and fanning two
