Behrend Men's Basketball Faces Heartbreak in AMCC Semifinals

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team's bid for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship came to an end on Friday night to the No. 4 Medaille Mavericks. Medaille rode a strong second half to victory to advance to the conference title game tomorrow against La Roche.

Final Score: No. 4 Medaille 70, No. 1 Penn State Behrend 63

Final Records: Penn State Behrend 18-6, Medaille 14-12

Key Moments:

* The Mavericks led by as much as nine in the second half prior to the Lions knotting it up at 60
* Rodney Graves drilled a three-pointer to give Medaille the lead with 1:59 to play and would close out the win to make their first AMCC Title appearance since the 2016-17 season
* Kenny Fukon (Cranberry, Twp., PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic) led all scorers with 24 points, shooting 11-for-20 from the floor
* Fukon also grabbed 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double on the year
* PJ Gourley (Butler, PA/Knoch) tallied 19 points and eight rebounds for the Lions
*  Behrend entered the locker room at half clinging to a one-point lead (33-32) prior to the Mavs opening the back half on an 8-0 run
* Medaille never trailed in the second half
* The Mavericks held the Lions to just five three-pointers on the night, tying for their lowest total on the season
* The 17 attempted three's by Behrend was the lowest mark they had on the year
