Behrend Men's Volleyball Reverse Sweeps Hilbert

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team reverse swept Hilbert to win in five sets for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) victory on Friday night in the Junker Center.

Score:  Penn State Behrend 3, Hilbert 2 (22-25, 25-27, 25-20, 25-19, 18-16)
Records:  Penn State Behrend (11-14, 4-1 AMCC), Hilbert (9-12, 2-3 AMCC) 

Key Moments:

* The win secures a spot in the four-team AMCC playoffs next weekend
* Behrend improves to 19-0 all-time against the Hawks
* The Lions rallied from two sets down and won the fifth set in extra points
* Each team had match point twice in the decisive set with Behrend capitalizing on its second chance at match point
* Tied four times down the stretch, Behrend took advantage of an attack error and secured the win off a Daniel Easly (Erie, PA/McDowell) kill
* The Hawks won four of the final five points in the first set to take their only lead of the set for a 1-0 advantage
* Down 25-24 in the second, Hilbert got three straight kills to win in extra points for a two-set lead
* Five points was the largest lead in the third set and it belonged to the Lions on two occasions, once at 12-7 and then again to win the set
* Easly posted four kills and the team added 5.5 blocks in the third set to stay alive
* Lewis Rhodes (Reston, VA/South Lakes) recorded four kills and Easly added five in the fourth set, helping Behrend knot the match at 2-all
* The Lions had 12 kills on 27 attempts and five errors in the fifth set, while holding the Hawks to five kills for the conference win
* Easly led with 20 kills and added seven digs and added four blocks with two service aces
* Luke Mumpower (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) had a double-double with 28 assists and a team-best 15 digs
* Mumpower tallied four blocks and Joseph Sciscio (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South) posted six blocks
* Tarendran Heyward (Flossmoor, IL/Homewood-Flossmoor) handed out 25 assists and posted eight digs
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) finished with 12 kills and eight digs
