    Mount Aloysius College Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Jane Grassadonia has announced that Danielle O'Leary has been named the Head Coach of the College's first-ever Mount Aloysius Women's Lacrosse program.

    After a historic 2018 season that saw the Medaille College Mavericks women's lacrosse team win more games in a single season than any other year in program history, Medaille wrapped things up with a trip to the ECAC DIII Women's Lacrosse Championship Opening Round against Misericordia.
  • MEDAILLE WOMEN'S LACROSSE EARNS ECAC TOURNAMENT BID

    The Medaille College Mavericks women's lacrosse team advanced to the NEAC Championship Game for the first time since 2013 this weekend, and with that success they have been chosen to compete in the ECAC Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament.
  • MEDAILLE'S BAUER NAMED ECAC NORTH DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

    Medaille College senior Kaylie Bauer was named both the AMCC and the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, and then followed that up by earning ECAC North Region honors on Wednesday.

    Bauer helped the Mavs go 3-0 and win their second straight AMCC Championship. She led the way defensively for Medaille by scooping up 18 ground balls and causing 11 turnovers. In the AMCC-clinching win over D'Youville she earned eight ground balls and forced six turnovers en route to a 23-7 victory. She was just as clutch against previously unbeaten Keuka College, forcing four turnovers and getting four ground balls in a 14-13 instant classic. 
  • Alexis Ackerson, Medaille College, Women's Lacrosse - Offensive

    Ackerson had a great week for the Mavs, helping them go 3-0 and earn their second straight AMCC title. She scored a team high 11 goals and 14 points, including six goals and an assist against D'Youville in the championship clinching game. 13 of her 16 shots found their way on goal, finishing with a .688 shooting percentage.

    The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced their weekly regional award winners this afternoon and for the second straight week Medaille College women's lacrosse swept the ECAC Division III North Region honors.
  • MEDAILLE WOMEN CLAIM BACK-TO-BACK WOMEN'S LACROSSE TITLES

    The Medaille College women's lacrosse team hosted the D'Youville College Spartans on Tuesday evening with their sights set on their second straight AMCC Championship. After a back-and-forth opening sequence, Medaille used a 10-3 run in the first half and some stifling defense in the second to claim their second straight title 23-7.

    Outlaw continued her fantastic play on the defensive side of the field, helping the Mavericks go 3-0 last week in conference play. She led all Mavericks with 11 caused turnovers, 16 ground balls, and an astounding 19 draw controls. She also added three goals to help Medaille stay in the hunt for the top spot in the conference as the season winds down. 
  • Sarah Espe, Medaille College, Women's Lacrosse - Offensive

    Espe had a great week offensively for the Mavericks, helping them go 3-0 and stay in the hunt for the top spot in the conference. Espe earned a hat trick in all three games, finishing with 11 total goals while also dishing out four assists for 15 total points. She had at least four points in every win, including six against Bryn Athyn on Saturday afternoon. She did all of this on 12 shots on goal, while going 3-4 on free position attempts. Espe also added six ground balls.

    The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced their weekly regional award winners this afternoon, and the Medaille College women's lacrosse team continued to collect honors as freshmen Claire Purdy and Thelma Outlaw each were selected to represent the Division III North Region.

    Outlaw continued her incredible play last week, helping the Mavs go 2-0. She had arguably her best game against Lancaster Bible, causing 11 turnovers and scooping up an impressive 13 ground balls. She also earned two draw controls and scored a goal. In total she earned 16 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers. 
  • Claire Purdy, Medaille College, Women's Lacrosse - Offensive

    Purdy continued her amazing play last week, leading Medaille in goals and points as they finished the week 2-0 by outscoring their opponents 38-16. Against Franciscan Purdy scored six goals on 10 shots on goal. Against Lancaster Bible she followed that up with yet another hat trick, adding an assist as well. She also scooped up seven ground balls, grabbed 11 draw controls, and recorded four caused turnovers.

    Bain registered her first career shutout in Franciscan's 23-0 win over Waynesburg. She had a .529 save percentage for the week, posting 18 saves between the two games.
  • Jill Golding, D'Youville College, Women's Lacrosse - Offensive

    Golding had another outstanding week for the Spartans, leading them on offense yet again. On Tuesday at Allegheny, Golding led the team with two goals and five draw controls in the loss the the Gators. She then helped the Spartans earn the largest win in program history as they defeated Waynesburg 18-1 on Saturday. Golding scored seven goals with three assists, 14 draw controls, 14 shots, and 11 shots on goal - all team highs. she also added seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. Golding currently is second in the AMCC in goals (27) and assists (9) but is first in points (36), draw controls (40), shots on goal (49), and is tied for first in shots (64).

    Smith had a strong week for the Spartans, helping them earn their second win of the season. In the 17-14 win over Cazenovia on Tuesday, Smith led the team with nine ground balls and five caused turnovers in the win. She then added two ground balls in the team's 15-13 loss at Wells on Saturday. Smith leads the AMCC in ground balls (31) and is second in the conference in caused turnovers (14).
  • Kelsey Beres, Medaille College, Women's Lacrosse - Offensive

    Beres had an impressive week last week as she helped Medaille go 1-1. Against Alfred State she sparked a Mavericks offense that scored 17 goals by netting six of her own on just eight shots. She was just as efficient against the United States Merchant Marine Academy, netting three goals on five shots on goal.

    Jordan set the Franciscan single-game record in caused turnovers with eight against Hilbert. Jordan caused nine turnovers for the week, picked up seven ground balls, and won five draw controls.
  • Mary Krolicki, Franciscan University, Women's Lacrosse - Offensive

    Krolicki led the Lady Barons to a 2-0 week in conference action, as she scored eight goals and had two assists for the week. She was 1-for-1 on free position shots, picked up five ground balls, won 10 draw controls, and caused two turnovers. All 12 of her shots this week were on goal.
  • Megan Dulniak, D'Youville College, Women's Lacrosse - Defensive

    Dulniak had a sparkling debut for the women's lacrosse team this past week, helping them earn their first win. Dulniak recorded her first career win in her first career game on Tuesday against Hilbert. Dulniak made 12 saves and allowed just three goals in her team debut, following up with another 12 saves against Keuka on Saturday. In the AMCC, Dulniak is currently second in goals against average (9.00), save percentage (57.1%), saves (24), and third in goals against (18).
  • Jill Golding, D'Youville College, Women's Larosse - Offensive

    Golding helped lead the Spartans to the program's first win this past week. On Tuesday against Hilbert, Golding led the team with four goals and four assists for eight points in the team's 13-3 win over the Hawks. She added three ground balls, four draw controls, and 10 shots in the team's first win in program history. Golding then added an assist against Keuka on Saturday. Golding currently leads the team in assists (5) and points (9) and is tied for first in goals (4). She is third in the AMCC in assists and fourth in points.

    Bain recorded 30 saves on a .667 save percentage over two games, recording a .750 save percentage in a 16-5 win over Thiel College. Bain broke the FUS all time career save record in their last game vs Washington and Jefferson.

    Espe had a monster week for the Mavs as they kicked off their 2018 season. She had back-to-back hat tricks, earning seven goals in total. In addition, she dished out seven assists, giving her 14 total points in just two games played. She also led the team with 10 draw controls, caused five turnovers and scooped up four ground balls.

    Franciscan University junior goalie Brittany Bain earned her first weekly award of the season as she was named the Independent Women's Lacrosse Schools (IWLS) Defensive Player of the Week, Wednesday afternoon.
