MAVS SWEEP ECAC NORTH HONORS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK

The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced their weekly regional award winners this afternoon and for the second straight week Medaille College women's lacrosse swept the ECAC Division III North Region honors.

Senior Sarah Espe had a great week offensively for the Mavericks, helping them go 3-0 en route to being named the ECAC Division III North Region Offensive Player of the Week. Espe earned a hat trick in all three games, finishing with 11 total goals while also dishing out four assists for 15 total points. In fact she had at least four points in every win, including six against Bryn Athyn on Saturday afternoon. She did all of this on 12 shots on goal, while going 3-4 on free position attempts.

Freshman Thelma Outlaw was named the ECAC Division III North Region Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight time after she continued her fantastic play on the defensive side of the field, helping the Mavericks go 3-0 last week in conference play. She led all Mavericks last week with 11 caused turnovers, 16 ground balls, and an astounding 19 draw controls. She also added three goals to help Medaille stay in the hunt for the top spot in the conference as the season winds down.
