MAVERICKS' SEASON ENDS IN ECAC FIRST ROUND

MAVERICKS' SEASON ENDS IN ECAC FIRST ROUND

After a historic 2018 season that saw the Medaille College Mavericks women's lacrosse team win more games in a single season than any other year in program history, Medaille wrapped things up with a trip to the ECAC DIII Women's Lacrosse Championship Opening Round against Misericordia. The Cougars came out firing on all cylinders in the first half and used that momentum to earn a 19-3 win.

Senior Sarah Espe kicked things off less than 30 seconds in scoring an unassisted goal to go up 1-0. However the Misericordia offense exploded immediately after, scoring 14 straight. Espe rounded out the first half with two more goals to complete the hat trick as Medaille entered the half down 14-3.

The second half proved to be just as difficult for the Mavs, as Medaille was held scoreless during the second half for just the second time all season.

The Cougars outshot the Mavs 33-11 overall and 26-7 on goal, as the loss ends the Women's Lacrosse season at 14-5 overall.
