Men's Volleyball Has Tough Day On The Road

Fond du Lac, WI- The Tigers travelled up north to compete against the Sabres of Marian University and the Lakeland Muskies. It was a tough day for the Tigers who fell to Marian 3-2 [25-20, 28-26, 17-25, 27-29, 15-8]. The Red and White returned to the hardwood later in the afternoon and dropped a tough match to Lakeland College by a final 3-0 [25-14, 25-23, 25-19]. 

Marian: The Tigers went into five sets with the Sabres. Wittenberg was able to take the third set (25-17) and fourth set with a 29-27 score, but fell in the fifth set 15-8. Wittenberg had a kill percentage of .169 with 60 kills and 58 assists. Tigers were led by Noah Wissel with 51 assists, Fred Halper with 16 digs, and Jackson Tyler had 20 kills for Wittenberg.

Lakeland: The second match of the day would be tougher for the Tigers to keep up with a quick three-set match. The Muskies took the first set 25-14 and then went to take the second (25-23) and third set (25-19). Wittenberg ended the match with a kill percentage of .125 with 27 kills. Wissel continued to lead the Tigers in assists with 22, giving him 73 assists on the day. Dominic Melchiorre had seven kills for the Tigers and Aiden Hauter added five digs.

Up Next: Wittenberg will be back on the road for their next match-up against St. John Fisher and Daemen. Tigers will be at Daemen a 5 PM against St. John Fisher and 7 PM against Daemen on Friday, January 31st.
