Lions Tennis Falls 8-1 to Pitt-Greensburg

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's tennis took an 8-1 loss from Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday afternoon at the Adler Tennis Courts.

With its win, Pitt-Greensburg (8-2, 6-0 AMCC) clinched the regular season championship in the AMCC and will have the top seed in the conference postseason tournament.

The Bobcats swept doubles play by scores of 8-0, 8-0, and 8-4. After that, the visitors won two through six singles matches to finish with a seven-point victory in the match.

Penn State Altoona (3-5, 2-3 AMCC) earned its lone point of the match in No. 1 singles, where Emily Neil (Altoona, PA/Altoona) picked up her third win of the season with a 6-2, 6-2 decision over her opponent.

Penn State Altoona women's tennis is back at home tomorrow, Thursday, October 7 for its final match of the regular season. The Lions will host AMCC foe La Roche University, with the start time set for 4:00 p.m. at the Adler Tennis Courts.
