Men’s Volleyball Falls 3-0 at SUNY Polytechnic

MARCY, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona men's volleyball suffered a tough 3-0 loss to North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Friday evening at the Wildcat Field House.

The Lions (14-11, 5-2 NEAC) were swept by scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-12.

Justin Bannister (Willow Hill, PA/Fannett-Metal) had five kills, five digs, one ace, and one block assist, while Ryan Dry (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) also had five kills to go along with three total blocks.

Dan Downs (Reading, PA/Daniel Boone) added four kills and three total blocks, Brian Sheddy (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock) had four kills, five digs, and one block assist, and Dylan Appleman (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) contributed four kills and one ace.

Tommy Kisick (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) led the Lions in assists and blocks, totaling 21 assists and four total blocks. Brandon Arentz (Mount Wolf, PA/Northeastern) chipped in four digs.

Penn State Altoona men's volleyball wraps up its regular season tomorrow, Saturday, April 7 with two matches hosted by Wells College. First, the Lions will face off against NEAC opponent Wells at 12:00 p.m. before ending the day against non-conference Bard College at 2:00 p.m.
