  • AMCC ANNOUNCES FALL SPORTSMANSHIP TEAMS

    All institution sport teams which compete for an AMCC championship may select one member from their team who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-AMCC Sportsmanship Team.

    Picard went 1-0 this week with her other match in the semi-final ending due to her team earning 5 points. That ended her perfect AMCC singles record as 8-0 combined in #5 and #6 singles. Picard helped lead the Barons to their third straight AMCC championship.

    Franciscan University claimed their fourth consecutive women's tennis crown on Sunday, defeating Medaille College, 5-0.

    Franciscan University will face Medaille College in the finals of the AMCC women's tennis championship tournament on Sunday at 1:30p.
  • Lauren Karoglan, D'Youville College, Women's Tennis

    Karoglan had an excellent week for the Spartans, going undefeated including a playoff win. On Tuesday against Houghton, Karoglan earned an 8-4 doubles victory and a 6-2, 7-5 singles victory. Then on Saturday against Pitt.-Bradford, Karoglan helped lead the charge in the team's big 5-1 playoff victory over the Panthers. She helped earn a point with a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory and then picked up an 8-2 doubles victory with her partner.

    #4 D'Youville College and #6 Penn State Altoona each picked up first round victories to advance to the AMCC women's tennis championship tournament semifinal round.

    The seeds are set and the AMCC women's tennis teams are ready to open up the 2019 championship tournament, which kicks off this Saturday with first round matches.

    Girol continued her great season this past week, as she went a combined 6-0 in singles and doubles play. Girol went 3-0 in No. 2 doubles and 3-0 in No. 3 and No. 4 singles against AMCC opponents La Roche, Pitt-Bradford, and Pitt-Greensburg.
  • Jessica Jordan, Pitt-Bradford, Women's Tennis

    Jordan went 6-0 and put in a perfect weekend for the Panthers playing at #5 singles and in the #3 doubles pairing. Against Medaille she was able to pull through two close matches, winning 6-3, 6-4 in singles and 8-6 in doubles. She made much quicker work of her opponents on Saturday and Sunday. Against Penn State Behrend she won 6-1, 6-1 in singles and 8-1 in doubles and closed the weekend with a 6-0,6-0 singles victory and an 8-1 doubles win against Pitt-Greensburg.
  • Maggie Willason, Mount Aloysius College, Women's Tennis

    Willason went 6-0 over the weekend, including 4-0 in conference play. Willason helped propel the Mounties to 3-0 on the week. The junior did not lose a set in either doubles or singles matches, winning handily in all her singles matches.
  • Madelyn Conrad, Franciscan University, Women's Tennis
    September 16, 2019
    Conrad swept her four conference matches for the week. Against Penn St. Altoona, Conrad picked up a victory at No. 1 singles with 6-0, 6-0 victories, then cruised to an 8-3 victory in the top doubles spot. Then, against Pitt-Greensburg, she picked up 6-1, 6-1 victories at No. 1 singles, and an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
  • Chloe Love, Mount Aloysius College, Women's Tennis

    Love went 2-0 against AMCC opponents in a 1-1 overall week for the Mounties, at first singles. Both singles wins were won after losing the first set, by winning a tiebreaking third set. Love also went 2-0 at first doubles with her partner, winning 8-6 against Medaille and sweeping D'Youville 8-0.
  • Payton Whysong, Mount Aloysius College, Women's Tennis

    Whysong had a very dominant week, winning three of her four total matches. She went undefeated in singles, without losing a set, and won all her sets handily. In doubles, she went 1-1 with her partner, and their win was big, at 8-4.
