Women’s Volleyball Cruises Past Elmira 3-0

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's volleyball earned a sweep on Friday night in the Adler Arena, defeating non-conference opponent Elmira College 3-0.

The Lions (6-2) prevailed in three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-19. Penn State Altoona finished the night with a season-best .248 attack percentage as a team.

Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) had a match-high 11.0 points, recording nine kills and two service aces while also tying for the team lead in digs with eight. Lacee Barnhart (Bellefonte, PA/Bald Eagle) led the Lions in kills with 10, and she also recorded seven digs.

Makenna Bauer (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) had five kills, four digs, and one ace, and Taylor Myers (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) totaled four kills and two digs. Grace Shelley (York, PA/York Catholic) added three kills and one solo block, while Karlie Feathers (Bellwood, PA/Bellwood-Antis) chipped in two kills. Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) had a kill and a block assist.

Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) finished with a match-high 24 assists to go along with eight digs, two kills, and one block assist.

Erin Lutz (State College, PA/State College) compiled eight digs while also tallying four assists and an ace. Abigail Brinker (Lock Haven, PA/PHAA), Allie Godwin (Pittsburgh, PA/West Allegheny), and Kristen Onder (Clarence, PA/Bald Eagle) each finished with three digs. Taylor Kilmer (Julian, PA/Bald Eagle) posted a solo block and a service ace.

Penn State Altoona women's volleyball returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, October 2, hosting Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Medaille College in the Adler Arena for a match beginning at 1:00 p.m.
