Men’s Soccer Drops Non-Conference Road Game

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's soccer was handed its third consecutive loss on Saturday afternoon, when the Lions fell 3-1 at non-conference opponent Bryn Athyn College at General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

Grady Ballard (State College, PA/State College) scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season for Penn State Altoona (9-7), while Tommy Packevicz (Trumbull, CT/Christian Heritage) made four saves in goal.

Bryn Athyn (6-8) scored the game's first goal at 12:53, when Owen Ovecka's tally put the home team up 1-0. Second half goals from Aaron Clark and Mike Carmody extended Bryn Athyn's advantage to 3-0 by the 73:47 mark.

Ballard helped the Lions avoid getting shut out, when his goal at the 85:46 mark made it 3-1.

Penn State Altoona finished the game with statistical advantages over Bryn Athyn in shot attempts (13-9) and shots on goal (8-7), while Bryn Athyn led 2-0 in corner kicks.

Ballard led all players in the game with six shot attempts, including four shots on goal. Damian Dangler (Warminster, PA/William Tennent) attempted three shots with one shot on goal.

Penn State Altoona men's soccer plays its final game of the regular season this Tuesday, October 26, when the Lions return to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play by traveling to nearby Cresson to face Mount Aloysius College at 8:15 p.m.
