Greensburg Defeats Women’s Soccer 2-0

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's soccer team faced Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday afternoon, and the Lions suffered a 2-0 loss at Ridilla Field.

After a scoreless first half, Pitt-Greensburg (12-3-1, 5-0 AMCC) got goals from Ashley Lucas and Megan Hickey during the second period to post a two-goal win at home.

Adeline Baustert (Apollo, PA/Apollo-Ridge) tied her season-high for saves with 12 for Penn State Altoona (3-6-5, 1-2-2 AMCC). Dee Dee Abbott (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick), Rachel Rutkowski (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan), and Mallorie Smith (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) each had one shot on goal for the Lions.

Lucas broke the scoreless tie with a goal at 59:18, and Hickey scored on a penalty kick 67:43 to make it 2-0.

Penn State Altoona women's soccer returns home this Saturday, October 22 to face AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford at 3:15 p.m. The game will be the team's Senior Day, and local members of AYSO Region 452 will be also be recognized.
