    Penn St. Behrend junior Dylan Buffington was named to the All-Region team as he raced to a 33rd overall finish out of 351 runners at the Mid-East Regional Saturday afternoon hosted by DeSales.

    Penn State Behrend junior Dylan Buffington has been named the 2016 AMCC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year.

    Buffington has now finished first for the Lions in every race this year including first overall in four of the five races. His first place finish helped Behrend capture their sixth AMCC title in a row. Buffington completed the 8K championship course in 28:09.45.

    Penn State Behrend claimed their 10th overall, and sixth consecutive, AMCC men's cross country title Saturday afternoon on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

    The AMCC Championships will take place on Saturday, October 31 at Penn St. Behrend. The AMCC championship meet will take place on Saturday, October 31 at Penn St. Behrend. The women's race will begin at 11am. All teams will have the opportunity to participate in the NCAA Division III Regional Meet on Saturday, November 14 hosted by Dickinson College at Big Spring High School in Newville, PA.

    Returning for their fourth consecutive race, the Hilbert College men's and women's cross country teams volunteered their services at the Lou Reuter Scholarship Run October 16.

    Buffington set a new school record for fastest race with a time of 24:22.3. He kept a mile pace of 5:02 which helped him finish 30th out of 383 runners. The Rowan Inter-Regional Boarder Clash hosted 10 nationally ranked teams, as well as a number of nationally ranked runners.

    The AMCC is embarking on its 20th anniversary during the 2016-17 academic year. Since 1997 there have been many outstanding teams and individual student-athletes who have risen to the top of their sports. We are honored to recognize and highlight some of those accomplishments throughout this anniversary year.

    Buffington continues to shine for Behrend. He now has won all three races this season, helping the Lions also come in first place in each race. His 25:53.9 8k time is his best yet this year, and was 59 seconds faster than the second place finisher. It also places him at the top of the top times for 2016, where he holds three of the top four times on the season.

    Long took sixth overall with an 8K time of 29:06.44 at the W&J Invite, and was the fastest AMCC runner to cross the line. This was the second race in a row that Long led the Barons, his third-fastest time of the season, and it placed him in ninth place of the AMCC top times list for 2016.

    Bentivegna cut almost two minutes off his 8K time this week at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational at Roberts Wesleyan. Bentivegna crossed the finish line in a field of 213 runners in 30:13.5. His effort helped Hilbert edge AMCC rivals D'Youville and Medaille.
