PENN STATE ALTOONA, BEHREND SWIMMING & DIVING NAMED SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAMSJune 30, 2020The Penn State Altoona and Penn State Behrend men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been named a 2019-20 Division III Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), on Tuesday.

SWANSON, MILLER TABBED AS TOP PERFORMERS IN MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVINGFebruary 27, 2020Penn State Altoona freshman Isaac Swanson had a standout week at the 2020 AMCC Men's Swimming and Diving Championship on his way to earning conference Men's Swimmer of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors at the conclusion of the weekend.

Austin Miller, Alfred State College, Men's DivingFebruary 24, 2020Miller won both the 1m and 3m titles for the second straight year. He won the 3m on Wednesday with a score of 421.85 (2nd in overall in the meet) and won the 1m title with a score of 407.00 (3rd overall).

Isaac Swanson, Penn State Altoona, Men's SwimmingFebruary 24, 2020Swanson took AMCC Men's Swimmer of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors at the conclusion of this week's conference championships. He had a banner week for Penn State Altoona, having a hand in seven new men's swimming team records set during the AMCC Championships. The freshman set new records in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:41.97), 100 Yard Backstroke (52.31), and 200 Yard Backstroke (1:54.26). Swanson also set new records in the 50 Yard Freestyle (21.82) and 100 Yard Freestyle (46.83) while competing in relay events, and he was part of the foursome that set new records in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (1:27.59) and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (3:13.89).

BEHREND CLAIMS 14TH STRAIGHT AMCC MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPFebruary 22, 2020Nazareth College raced to the 2020 Allegheny Empire Championships by edging out Hartwick College in the overall standings. The Flyers also took the Empire 8 Crown while Penn State Behrend won the AMCC title.

NAZARETH, BEHREND ADD TO LEADS ON DAY 2 OF AE SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPFebruary 20, 2020After the second day and 40 events of competition at the Allegheny Empire Swimming and Diving Championship meet, Nazareth College has increased their lead in the overall and Empire 8 standings for both the men’s and women’s teams while Penn State Behrend has increased its lead on the men’s side, but has seen Alfred State College creep to within 10 points on the women’s side.

Quinn Fischer, Penn State Behrend, Men's SwimmingFebruary 03, 2020Fischer had back-to-back wins in the 50 freestyle (21.71) and the 100 freestyle (47.62) in the win over St. Vincent to give the Lions their first undefeated season in dual-meet action.

Austin Miller, Alfred State College, Men's DivingJanuary 27, 2020Miller finished 4th out of 12 divers on the 3m diving board at the Ithaca Diving Invitational, as he completed the 11-dive program with 412.35 points. On the 1m board, he finished in 8th place with 371.75 points.

Isaac Swanson, Penn State Altoona, Men's SwimmingJanuary 27, 2020Swanson notched three individual first place finishes in Saturday's win over non-conference opponent Hood, while also being part of a second place relay team. Swanson won the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:47.16, coming just 0.11 seconds behind the current team record for that swim. He also took first place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 22.15, just 0.03 seconds behind his own team record for that event. Swanson's third win of the day came in the 100 Yard Backstroke, in which he clocked in at 54.62. Swanson was also part of the 200 Yard Medley Relay team that took second place with a combined time of 1:46.73, coming in just 0.34 seconds behind the first place squad.

Matt Walker, Alfred State College, Men's SwimmingJanuary 20, 2020Walker won the 1000 free in 10:42.99, the 100 back in 56.86 vs. Pitt Bradford. He also was part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:41.42) and the 200 free relay team (1:31.88). In the Naz tri-meet, which featured a short course meter format, he won the 800 freestyle in 9:11.69, 200 IM in 2:18.04, and the 100 breast in 1:08.58.

He was first in the 200 freestyle (1:47.89) and 100 freestyle (49.11), while swimming a leg on the winning 200 medley relay.

Quinn Fischer, Penn State Behrend, Men's SwimmingNovember 25, 2019Fischer won two individual events and swam on four winning relays to help the Lions capture the 2019 Oberlin Invite. He had a personal-best times in his two first-place finishes. Fischer won the 50 free (21.42) and the 100 free (46.89). He also took third in the 200 freestyle (1:44.70).

Westin Perry, Alfred State College, Men's SwimmingNovember 18, 2019Perry earned three individual first place finishes and helped lead the Pioneers to a victory over Penn State Altoona. Perry put himself on the record board with his performance in the 100 back. He set a new mark by winning the event in 54.41. He also won the 50 back in 25.40 and the 50 free in 23.13.

Isaac Swanson, Penn State Altoona, Men's SwimmingNovember 11, 2019Swanson had a team-high two individual first place finishes to go along with one relay first place, helping the Lions defeat non-conference opponent Juniata on Friday evening. Swanson won the 200 SC Meter IM with a time of 2:19.37, and he later placed atop the standings in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 4:23.03. In the meet's final event, Swanson and his teammates combined for a time of 1:48.77 in the 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay to earn first place.
