Tennis picks up first win of the season over La Roche
WEXFORD, Pa. --- Carlow University women's tennis picked up its first win of the season in a 9-0 sweep of La Roche University at Oxford Athletic Club Friday night.
The win breaks a losing streak dating back to April 10, 2021 when the Celtics defeated Ohio Christian University, 5-2.
Carlow's No. 2 and 3 doubles of Caitlin McCarthy/Jensen Stolitza and Josie Kobak/Sofia Hernandez defeated the Red Hawks (0-5), 8-0, each.
The No. 1 doubles pair of Karissa Miller and Julia Piatt won, 8-3.
Each Carlow athlete won their respective singles matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
The Celtics host Mount Aloysius College for an 11 a.m. Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup tomorrow at Alpha Tennis & Fitness. Prior to the match, Carlow will honor seniors Josie Kobak and Karissa Miller for Senior Day.
