Turnovers costly for Men’s Basketball in loss to Bryant & Stratton College Buffalo

The Celtics dropped to 3-8 overall while the Bobcats improved to 6-3.
Galen Waters hit five treys to lead the Celtics with season-high 21 points. Byron Gaskins added 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Clayton Cook contributed 10 points, eight boards, two assists and two blocks off the bench.
In a game that saw 14 lead changes throughout the afternoon, it was the Bobcats who ended up on top.
It was a battle through the first half, with both teams staying within a few points of one another, resulting in Buffalo leading 48-47 at halftime.
Despite another hard-fought start to the second half, the Bobcats led by 11 midway through before back-to-back treys from Jimmy Giannetta and Oscar Contreras quickly cut Buffalo's lead to five.
Neither team would score for the next two and a half minutes before a Bryant & Stratton free throw broke the stalemate, giving the Bobcats a 73-67 lead with eight minutes to go.
Isaiah Stein sank a three-pointer to put Carlow within three points of tying the score, and a layup by Cook had the Celtics trailing 73-72 at the seven-minute mark.
A Bobcats layup with five minutes left set off a 9-0 run for Buffalo that spanned over four minutes, giving the Bobcats a 10-point lead with under two minutes remaining in the game. Carlow fought to the end but could not recoup the deficit.
The Celtics made 11 treys, shooting 40.7 percent from beyond the arc on the night and outscored the Bobcats 30-23 off the bench.
Carlow shot 68.2 percent (15 for 22) from the foul line, but sent the Bobcats to the line more often, where they converted 66.7 percent (28 for 42).
Buffalo held a narrow 48-45 margin in rebounds and scored 21 points off 22 Carlow turnovers.
Kalon Kimble led all scorers with a double-double 24 points and 16 rebounds, and three other Buffalo players tallied double figures in the win. Armonee Felder recorded a double-double 20 points and 10 assists.
The Celtics return to action in the new year with an AMCC game at Mount Aloysius College Jan. 3.
