Women’s Tennis swept in spring opener against Geneva

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women's tennis lost its spring opener, 9-0, to Geneva College at Alpha Tennis & Fitness Saturday afternoon.

The Celtics (1-8) took several games from the Golden Tornadoes (6-8), but Geneva won the sets to secure the win.

Josie Kobak and Leah Hartman each won five games in the No. 4 and No. 6 singles spots, and Jensen Stolitza won four games at No. 3 singles.

Hartman and Sofia Hernandez won four games at the No. 3 doubles position, and the duos of Julia Piatt/Caitlin McCarthy and Stolitza/Kobak won three and two games in doubles, respectively.

Carlow returns to action with a noon match at Juniata College April 7.
