  • AMCC ANNOUNCES SPRING SPORTSMANSHIP TEAMS

    All institution sport teams which compete for an AMCC championship may select one member from their team who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-AMCC Sportsmanship Team.

    Galla was responsible for nine of the Barons' 10 points en route to their seventh-straight AMCC championship. Galla clinched the title for the Barons for the second time in his career with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against Mt. Aloysius. Galla won the first singles match in the semifinals against Behrend.

    The Franciscan University men's tennis team won their seventh consecutive AMCC championship, defeating Mount Aloysius College, 5-2.

    The AMCC men's tennis championship kicks off this weekend at the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA as Franciscan University won the regular season championship and the top seed heading into the tournament.

    White continued his stellar play going 2-0 last week. He dominated in his #1 singles match and partnered with Marcos Lerma to take down the Tomcats #1 doubles pairing 8-6.
  • Dylan Matta, Men's Tennis, Mount Aloysius College

    Matta put in a 4-0 week for the Mounties in two wins that clinched the No. 2 seed in the AMCC tournament. Matta won his matches against Pitt-Bradford, taking the #4 singles match 6-0,6-1 and the #2 doubles 8-2. Against Medaille, he won the match match-clinching singles contest 6-2,6-2, while also picking up the lone Mountie doubles victory on the day, 8-4.

    Conrad swept his AMCC matches this past week helping the Barons to their 52nd-straight AMCC regular season win. He went 3-0 in both No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles in conference play, picking up wins over Pitt-Greensburg, PS-Behrend, and Medaille. His only loss of the week came at No. 1 doubles/singles against Allegheny.

    Price posted a perfect 4-0 record this past week, playing all four matches in both the top singles and doubles positions. Turner now owns an 8-3 singles record, including an undefeated 4-0 record in AMCC play. The win at #1 doubles improves his record in doubles action to 3-1 against conference opponents.

    May was instrumental in helping the Lions post a 2-0 record in AMCC action this weekend, as Behrend picked up wins over Mount Aloysius and PS-Altoona. May tallied a pair of singles wins at the No. 3 and 4 spots, while teaming with Brent McFarland for two wins at No. 2 doubles.

    Goldyn had a near perfect day in a 9-0 win over Lycoming. In Doubles, he and his partner easily won the #1 pairing 8-1. In singles play, he quickly defeated his opponent 6-0,6-0 in the #3 match.

    White set the tone for the Mavericks in their first-ever NCAA men's tennis match on Saturday afternoon, winning both his number one singles and doubles matches in dominant fashion. He and partner Marcos Lerma defeated Pitt-Bradofrd's number one duo 8-4, then White took down the Panthers number one 6-2, 6-1; helping Medaille earn their first even men's tennis victory in their inaugural match.

    Blose hat a perfect start to the Spring season for the Mounties. Playing in the top position, Blose won his first match easily 6-1, 6-2 and followed it up with a flawless 6-0,6-0 victory in his second. Playing with Nick Goldyn in the 1st doubles pairing, Blose eased his way to two more victories, winning 8-4 and 8-3 respectively.

    Blose marked his Mount Aloysius debut with two wins. He was in a hotly contested doubles match in the top pairing in which Mount Aloysius was able to come out on top. He then put in a dominant performance at number 1 singles, winning 6-2 in the first set and 6-0 in the second.
