FRANCISCAN MEN'S TENNIS MAKES IT SEVEN IN A ROW

The Franciscan University men's tennis team won their seventh consecutive AMCC championship and eighth in nine years, defeating Mount Aloysius College, 5-2.

With the win, the top seeded Barons earned the right to represent the AMCC at the NCAA Division III national tournament next month.

The Barons got doubles points from Luke Conrad and Jack Galla at 2 (8-6) and Walter Matt/Aidan Howard (8-2) to take a 2-1 lead.  The Mounties' #1 doubles pair of  Matt Blose and Nick Goldyn earned their team's first point with an 8-2 win.

Franciscan secured the title with wins at #4 singles (Giorgio Alexander, 6-2, 6-1), #5 singles (Jack Galla, 6-1, 6-1) and #6 singles (Walter Matt, 6-0, 6-0).  The Mounties' second point was earned by Matt Blose, a 6-2, 6-0 winner at #1 singles.
