Women’s Tennis concludes spring season with win over Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University women's tennis defeated Waynesburg University, 8-1, on the road Monday.

Julia Piatt and Caitlin McCarthy took the No. 1 doubles match, 8-3, and Jensen Stolitza and Josie Kobak won, 8-4, in the No. 2 doubles position.

The Celtics (2-9) swept the Yellow Jackets (1-12) in all six singles matches.

Piatt won in the first singles spot, 6-4 and 6-1, and McCarthy won in the second singles spot, 6-4 and 6-3. Stolitza took the third singles spot with a tiebreaker, 7-6 and 9-7, before falling 5-7 in the secon set. She won the third set, 10-8, and the match. Kobak won, 6-1 and 6-1. Sofia Hernandez won the fifth singles match, 6-4 and 6-0, while Reagan Redford won the final singles match, 6-1 and 6-2.
