FREDERICKSBURG, VA - The NC Wesleyan College men's basketball team cruised to a monster blowout win over Mount Aloysius College (Pa.) 93-37 on the road at Mary Washington Saturday afternoon in the Hyatt Tip-Off Classic.
Senior wing Damon McDowell led the offense with a season high of 31 points on 11 of 17 shooting overall including 6 of 11 from three-point land.
Wesleyan got out to a big lead in the first half shooting 50 percent to take a 45-20 lead into halftime. They then played even better offensively and defensively in the second half holding the Broncos to just 17 points and 22 percent shooting outscoring them 48-17 to get the 56-point win.
The Bishops shot 50 percent for the game and 33 percent from three with guard Khalid Hinds scoring 9 points with 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block while sophomore shooting guard Austin Manley also scored 6 points. Sophomore guard Marquis Eskew also scored 6 points with 8 rebounds and 2 assists off the bench while forward Tim Pettiford also added 6 points and 8 rebounds.
Junior forward Isaiah Lewis finished with 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and a block as well helping drop MAC to 1-4.
Wesleyan improves to 3-2 and will next return home on Wednesday to host Mid-Atlantic Christian at 7:30 PM.
