Women’s Hockey Blows Past Hawks

NASHUA, NH: Rivier women's hockey took down Hilbert College this afternoon at Conway Arena.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/14/23

- Score: Rivier 8, Hilbert 0

- Records: Rivier (4-9-2), Hilbert (0-12)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders jumped out to an early 2-0 lead through the first period and continued to add score after score throughout the remainder of the contest. Riv found the back of the net three times in the second and another three times in the third period.

- Three Raiders had multiple goals, Jessica Driscoll (Tewksbury, MA), Brianna Parent (Saint Albans, VT), and Briana Paxson (Eagle River, AK). Gabriella DeSouza (Shrewsbury, MA) and Margaret Smith (Portland, ME) both added on one goal a piece to get the 8-0 final.

- Rachel Symmes (Chugiak, AK) was perfect in net for the Raiders, getting her first win of the season (1-3) after saving all 12 shots that she faced. Cassie Troy was tagged with the loss after saving 46 shots of the 54 faced.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Rivier 54, Hilbert 12

-  Penalties: Rivier had 8 minutes on 4 infractions. Hilbert had 6 minutes on 3 infractions.

-  Power Plays: Rivier was 1-for-3, Hilbert was 0-for-4.
