Women’s Ice Hockey Races by the Hawks

NASHUA, NH: Rivier women's ice hockey won against Hilbert College this evening at Conway Arena.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/13/23

- Score: Rivier 3, Hilbert 1

- Records: Rivier (3-9-2), Hilbert (0-11-0)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Early in the first period, Briana Paxson (Eagle River, AK) scored for the Raiders with an assist credited to Brianna Rumptz (Troy, MI). Jessica Driscoll (Tewksbury, MA) went on to record a Riv power play goal later in the first period with passes from Paxson and Jillian Hallee (Berlin, NH).

- No goals were scored in the second period.

- Paxson came out strong in the third period for Rivier. She scored her second goal of the game within the first minute, the assists were credited to Olivia Schultz (Albuquerque, NM) and Rumptz. Hilbert's Abby Dawson passed to Jacqueline Alaburda who was able to sneak a goal by Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) within the last couple minutes of the third period.

- Hinkley had 11 saves in net for the Raiders, taking the win. Jewely Monford had 39 saves in goal for the Hawks.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Shots: Rivier 42, Hilbert 12

- Penalties: Hilbert 8 minutes on 4 infractions, Rivier 6 minutes on 3 infractions

- Power Plays: Rivier was 1-for-4, Hilbert was 0-for-3
