    Cabrini College men's and women's swimming and diving teams, along with the Penn State Behrend women were recognized as a Scholar All-American teams by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their academic performances during the 2016 spring semester.

    In true championship fashion, it came down to the final 400 free relay event to crown a champion of the 2016 AMCC meet held at Grove City on Saturday.

    Lowery tied for the highest point getter at the AMCC Championships with 27 points. She was the individual champion in three events and two-time relay winner. Lowery swam on the final 400 free relay that set the AMCC open, meet and school record that won the championship for the Lions. She took home the gold in the 200 free, 100 butterfly and 200 IM. Lowery also was apart of the winning 200 free relay to complete the weekend.

    The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team has been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team.

    Gibson won the 50 Yard Freestyle against Wells, clocking in at 28.81. She was also part of the first place squad in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, combining with her teammates to finish with a time of 1:55.97.
  • Christina Melchiorre, Cabrini College
    January 18, 2016
    Melchiorre won the 50 yard freestyle against Ursinus, pacing all swimmers with a time of 26.90. The junior also joined teammates in capturing a win in the 400 yard freestyle relay in 4:14.49. The following day against Widener and Wilkes, Melchiorre notched a pair of third place finishes in the 100 and 200 yard freestyles.

    Rankin won the 3-meter dive with a score of 164.55 and took second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 139.90.

    McNulty won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.77 and took first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.84 against Bethany and Pitt-Bradford.

    Wyckoff swam in four relays and three individual events for the Lions at the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational. Wyckoff had a personal-best time in the 50 free, placing 12th in 25.87. She also was 11th in the 100 free (56.58) and 14th in the 200 free (2:04.69). The best relay finish was in the 400 medley relay where the foursome finished fifth in 4:18.63.

    Schneider was victorious in the 100 backstroke with a winning time of 1:10.59 and then again in the 200 yard event of the same style in 2:30.72. She also was a part of two winning relays.

    Rankin won the first flight of the 1-meter dive with a score of 135.65 at the Franciscan meet on November 13. The senior came back and won the second flight of the 1-meter dive that night with a score of 116.50.

    McNulty posted four wins on the weekend. She opened up the weekend with a pair of wins against Hiram at the Lady Barons home pool. McNulty won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:28.66, 11 seconds faster than the next swimmer. She finished the night with a win in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.23, 14 seconds faster than the second place finish. McNulty won the 200-yard IM against Cabrini and Bethany on Saturday with a time of 2:24.21. McNulty finished the weekend with a win in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.90, 17 seconds faster than the second place finisher.

    Reid Against Salisbury on Friday, Emily won the 200 Yard IM, clocking in at 2:49.42, and was also part of the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that recorded a time of 1:56.62 to win the event. On Saturday against Bethany, Emily placed first in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 28.19. She later won the 100 Yard Freestyle, touching the pad at 1:02.73.

    Rankin placed fourth in the 1 meter dive with 166.65 points and placed fifth in the 3 meter dive with 192.05 points.

    Young posted three first places against Penn St. Altoona. Young was part of the winning 200 medley relay team, swimming a 30.78 in the backstroke portion of the race. She also won the 100 back with a time of 1:06.38 and was part of the winning 200 free relay team, swimming a 28.54 for her portion of the race.

    Rankin won the first women's 1 meter dive with a score of 123.55 and won the second women's 1 Meter dive with a score of 106.20.
  • Casey Merrill, Swimmer of the Week, Cabrini College

    Merrill led the Cavaliers to a win over Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, after notching a pair of wins. Merrill scored wins in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:36.62 and the 400 yard IM in 5:24.80. The sophomore also joined teammates in capturing a win in the 400 yard medley relay in 4:35.85.

    Urban Competing in her first collegiate meet, Urban was a part of four winning relays at Pitt-Bradford on Saturday to start the season. Her victories included the mixed 200 medley relay (1:50.72), mixed 200 free relay (1:41.21), mixed 400 free relay (3:37.95), 800 free relay (8:39.45).
