Christina Melchiorre, Cabrini CollegeFebruary 17, 2014In an intensely fought AMCC championship meet, Melchiorre paved the way for Cabrini. The freshman took first in six events. As a member of the relay squad, Melchiorre combined with her teammates to take first in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay. As an individual, Melchiorre took first in the 50 free (25.3), 200 free (2:01), and 100 free (54.97). Melchiorre’s wins earned her a shared spot as high point scorer for the meet and helped the Cavaliers dominate to finish with 243 points and the conference crown.

Mia Pietropola, Penn State BehrendJanuary 27, 2014Pietropola broke the pool record at Pitt-Bradford in the 200 IM with a time of 2:17 to take the win. In addition, the freshman won the 100 breast (1:10) to lead the Lions to their first dual-meet win in 2014.

Christina Melchiorre, Cabrini CollegeJanuary 20, 2014Melchiorre was part of Cabrini’s relay team that won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:45, shattering the school record by 1.37 seconds. Individually, the freshman nearly broke the program’s six-year-old record in the 500 free, reaching the wall in 5:33.23, just 0.2 seconds off the mark. The rookie also placed 3rd in the 200 free (2:04).

Maria Giuliani, Franciscan UniversityJanuary 13, 2014Guiliani had five first place finishes this weekend in a double dual meet vs. Pitt-Bradford and Frostburg State, including the 200 freestyle (2:07.68). She dominated the field in the 200 freestyle again against Bethany (2:07.08) while also posting wins in the 100 and 200 free and the 400 freestyle relay.

Ashley Nero, Penn St. AltoonaDecember 16, 2013Nero tallied two individual first places against AMCC rival Penn State Behrend on December 14. She won the 50 freestyle in 26.56, and she later placed atop the standings in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.25.
