Tennis concludes spring season with narrow loss at Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, Pa. --- Carlow University tennis concluded its spring season with a narrow 4-3 loss to Waynesburg University at the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility Wednesday night.

The Celtics (4-8) previously defeated the Yellow Jackets (2-11), 4-3, in the fall.

Carlow captured the doubles point with 6-1 wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots from Caitlin McCarthy (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton HS) and Sofia Hernandez (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway HS) in the No. 1 spot, and Lyric Knepshield (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk HS) and Elle Duda (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park HS) in the No. 2 spot.

McCarthy also won the No. 1 singles match 6-3 and 6-4, and Reagan Redford (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan HS) won No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-4.
