    #3 Penn State Altoona routed #6 Pitt-Bradford 94-50 in women's basketball first round action, while #5 Mount Aloysius College earned the 88-73 upset victory over #4 Pitt-Greensburg to advance to the semifinal round of the AMCC championship tournament, which will be played Friday afternoon at La Roche University.

    With a 17-0 record in conference play, the La Roche University women's basketball team has once again claimed the AMCC regular season title and hosting rights for the final four slated for this weekend.

    Hairston ended the season with another pair of quality performances, helping lead La Roche to a 2-0 mark and second consecutive perfect AMCC regular season. In Wednesday's 90-48 victory over Carlow, Hairston put together a stat line of 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. She followed that outing in Saturday's 89-64 victory over Penn State Altoona with 19 points, 14 rebounds (10 offensive), five more assists, a steal and a block. For the week, she averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals.

    Maietta averaged 23 points over two games with a week-high of 29 coming against first place La Roche. She also had a season-high average of 5.0 assists per game, good enough for a 1.1 assist/turnover ratio. She shot over 48 percent from the floor on the week and close to 43 percent from behind the arc.

    Altavilla averaged 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in two AMCC games last week. She led the Lions in scoring each game, dropping 29 vs. La Roche, while also contributing eight rebounds, six assists and one steal in that game. Altavilla then recorded 26 points, another eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals in a win over Pitt-Bradford. Altavilla went 8-for-11 (72.7%) from three-point range on the week, including a career-high six triples vs. the Panthers.

    Altavilla shot 62.5 percent from the floor, averaging 28.5 points per game in a pair of AMCC wins this week. She went 15-for-22 against Mt. Aloysius for a new career-high 36 points. She also added nine assists and four steals against the Mounties. Altavilla also averaged 8.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals on the week.

    Kosmack led Mount Aloysius to two big AMCC victories in a 2-0 week, averaging 21.5 points and 22.0 rebounds. The freshman opened the week with a 24-point, 26-rebound double-double, while adding three assists and two blocks, giving the Mounties their first win against Pitt-Greensburg since 2018-19. She added 19 points and 18 rebounds in a victory at Pitt-Bradford to cap off the week. Kosmack shot 61.5% from the field and 91.7% from the line, to go along with seven blocks for the week.

    Anderson was dominant in her first two games of the season with the Redhawks. In Wednesday's victory over Pitt-Greensburg, Anderson matched a team high 19 points on 9-for-12 shooting from the floor, going alongside four rebounds, six assists and three steals. Anderson followed that performance in Saturday's win over Penn State Altoona, netting 27 points on 12-for-18 shooting, while adding seven rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal. Anderson finished the week shooting a remarkable 70% from the field, while averaging 23.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.

    Carr scored a career- and season-high 34 points with 11 rebounds against Pitt Bradford Saturday. She also tallied five assists, five blocks, and four steals. In the two-point win over Mount Aloysius, Carr had 14 points and three assists and tied her season-high with seven steals. For the week, Carr averaged 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 5.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.

    Kosmack averaged 19.5 points on 85.7% (18-for-21) shooting across two games for the Mounties, adding 11 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.  Kosmack went 9-for-11 (81.8%) from the field for 18 points against Oberlin before connecting on 9-of-10 from the field for 21 points against Carnegie Mellon. She added 13 rebounds against Carnegie Mellon to earn the double-double. Kosmack led her team in both points and rebounds for both games in the Jim Meagle Holiday Classic, and was named to the All-Tournament team for Mount Aloysius.

    Hairston put together a dominant performance in La Roche's 99-70 victory over Thiel in the Redhawks lone game of the week. Hairston put together her sixth double-double of the season, behind a career high 35 points, going a remarkable 16-for-18 shooting from the floor, the second most FG's made in a game across all NCAA Divisions this year. Hairston added 17 rebounds, five assists, five steals and a block for a loaded stat line. Her 17 rebounds was the fifth time this season the AMCC's leading rebounder had 15 or more in a game.

    Abram had a dominant week for the Redhawks, helping them go 2-0 and improve to 4-0 before AMCC play resumes in the New Year. In Wednesday's AMCC Game of the Week against Penn State-Behrend, Abram scored 22 points to go alongside 14 rebounds, 10 of which were on the offensive side. She followed that performance on Saturday with a stat-filled line of 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and a pair of blocks, while shooting 61.1% from the floor. For the week, Abram averaged 25.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.

    The AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week features the La Roche University Redhawks taking on the Lions of Penn State Behrend, as both teams remain undefeated at 2-0 in conference play. The Redhawks edged out the Lions in the AMCC championship game last season by the final score of 71-70.
