HAIRSTON, KOSMACK EARN TOP HONORS AS WBB ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS RELEASED

La Roche University senior guard Machia Hairston has been named the 2024 AMCC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Hairston put together one of the best all-around seasons in the AMCC in 2023-24, with her number being noticed near the top of the conference and some nationally. Hairston averaged 17.8 points which placed her T-5th in the AMCC. Her 13 rebounds per game ended the year leading the AMCC, while also placing her seventh nationally in NCAA Division III and ninth across all divisions of women's basketball. Hairston also had a 56 point effort this season, the sixth most in a game in NCAA DIII history and the most points in a game across all divisions of women's basketball this year. Hairston also added on the offensive end a 51.1% shooting percentage (2nd AMCC) and just under three assists per game (2.7), 12th in AMCC and second most by a forward. On the defensive end, she averaged nearly two steals per game (1.9) which T-8th in the AMCC. Hairston recorded 14 double-doubles on the year, second most in the AMCC and T-20th in DIII.

Mount Aloysius Colege freshman forward Molly Kosmack has been named the AMCC Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year. Kosmack finished the regular season ranked second nationally in field goal percentage (64.6%). She led the league in scoring overall (18.6 ppg) and third in AMCC play (19.4 ppg). She was second in rebounding (12.7 rpg overall and 13.2 in AMCC play). Kosmack was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the week of Jan. 15-21.

La Roche head coach Kam Gissendanner picks up her second straight, and fifth overall, AMCC Coach of the Year honor. Gissendanner led the Redhawks to their fifth straight regular season title, and their second consecutive undefeated regular season in conference play .
