The AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week features a showdown of the top two teams in the conference as Penn State Behrend travels to La Roche University on Wednesday evening. The Behrend Lions are second in the AMCC with a 10-1 record, while La Roche holds down the top spot with a perfect 12-0 record in conference play.

The Lions are on a nine-game winning streak, dating back to December 9. During this stretch, Behrend is outscoring opponents 85.6 points to 64.0 points. The Lions shot 43.7 percent over the last nine games and average 13.2 steals per game. Sophomore guard Morgan Altavilla was named the AMCC Athlete of the Week for averaging 28.5 points and dropping a career-high 36 points in the win at Mount Aloysius on Saturday. Junior guard Rachel Majewski continues to lead the AMCC in points per game (18.9) while Altavilla is second with 17.7 points per game. As a team, Behrend is first in the AMCC in blocks per game (4.4) and is 5-0 when playing conference teams on the road.

La Roche enters Wednesday’s game of the week against the Lions looking to extend its winning streak to nine and improve to 13-0 in AMCC play and make it 39 straight in AMCC regular season play. Junior F Dasja Anderson has been a force since entering the lineup when the calendar turned to 2024, as she is averaging 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in her six games. Senior G Machia Hairston entered the 1,000-point club in Saturday’s victory and comes in averaging 17.8 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.
