    Penn State Altoona Athletics has announced the hiring of Bradley Brooks as the next head coach of its men’s and women’s swimming program.
  • FOUR SWIMMING & DIVING TEAMS EARN CSCAA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA HONORS

    The Penn State Behrend, Pitt-Bradford, and Cabrini University women's swimming and diving teams have been named Division III Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). Alfred State College was the lone school on the men's side to pick up the same honor.

    All institution sport teams which compete for an AMCC championship may select one member from their team who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-AMCC Sportsmanship Team. These individuals are selected by vote of their teammates. 
  • LOWERY, STEVENS, AND BYE HEADLINE WOMEN'S SWIMMING ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

    Cabrini University head coach Cindy Ikeler has been tabbed as the AMCC Women's Swimming Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her career. This season, Ikeler led the Cavaliers to their second conference title, and their first crown since 2014.

    Stevens was named AMCC Diver of the Year after winning the 1m and 3m competitions. She scored 368.45 in the 3m and 324.90 in the 1m.
  • Gwen Lowery, Penn St. Behrend, Women's Swimming

    Lowery was named the AMCC Swimmer of the Year, helping the Lions finish runner up at the championships. She was a part of eight records, setting four individual and winning two individual events at the AMCC meet. Lowery broke two records leading off the winning 800 free relay and then the relay broke four more. She won the 200 IM and 400 IM, while swimming on three winning relays.

    The AMCC women's swimming and diving teams will take to the starting blocks this week for the 2018 AMCC championship meet. Hosted by Penn State Behrend at the Junker Center, the diving events will lead off Wednesday evening, with the swimming events to follow Thursday, February 15 through Saturday, February 17

    Stevens won both the 1 m diving (6 dives) and the 3 m diving (6 dives) competition. She scored 186.37 in the 1 m and 203.02 in the 3 m. She was also part of the winning 400 medley relay team that won in 4:35.69.
  • Maryn Horn, Penn State Behrend, Women's Swimming

    Horn won the 50 backstroke (29.62) and then led the Lions in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:19.45 for third overall against Malone. On Saturday against St. Vincent, she registered three wins for Behrend. Horn won the 100 backstroke in 1:05.16, the 100 freestyle (57.80) and swam a leg on the winning 200 freestyle relay. She was also on the second-place 200 medley relay team.

    Four AMCC men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams for the Fall 2017 semester. Teams picking up the honor include Cabrini University women, Alfred State College men, and both the men and women's teams from Pitt-Bradford.

    Brown made the most of her final home appearance as she helped lead her team to a victory over Alfred State. Brown scored victories in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.99), 100-yard freestyle (57.53) and 100-yard butterfly (1:04.33). The senior also competed on the 200-yard medley relay team that finished second.

    Tohill scored 141.50 in 1-meter diving to take second, and then later secured first in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 130.80.

    Lewis won four individual events and two relays over the weekend in a pair of events for the Pioneers. Lewis won the 1,000 free in 12:05.39 and the 500 free in 5:48.37 vs. Pitt Bradford on Friday. She was also part of the 200 free relay team that won in 1:51.53. On Saturday, Lewis was a double winner against Niagara Wheatfield. She won the 200 free in 2:09.53 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.93. Lewis was also part of the winning 200 free relay in 1:52.79.

    Bye had a big night in the Lady Lions' 110-70 loss at Gallaudet on Friday night. Bye recorded two individual first place finishes and was part of a relay team that came in first. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, the freshman prevailed with a time of 2:21.87, and she also won the 100 Yard Butterfly in 1:06.89. In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Bye combined with her teammates to win the event with a total time of 2:04.18.

    Franciscan junior diver Sarah Tohill has earned four AMCC Diver of the Week awards so far this season and now adds her first-ever ECAC South Diver off the Week honor, as announced by the league Wednesdayafternoon.

    Tohill clinched first in both diving sections with scores of 119.45 and 151.50 in a tri-match against Bethany and Cabrini.

    Booz had two individual first place finishes, and was also part of a winning relay team, to lead the Lady Lions to a narrow 88-85 victory at Wilkes. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Booz came in first place with a time of 2:11.10. Later, she prevailed in the 100 Yard Backstroke, clocking in at 1:08.21 to finish atop the standings. Booz also joined her teammates in the 400 Yard Medley Relay to post a combined time of 4:41.34 to place first. Her performance in key events powered the Lady Lions to a narrow win over Wilkes.

    Tohill helped clinch first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:25.79  and then went on to clinch first in both diving sections with scores of 147.82 and 117.00.

    Brown competed in six events last week and scored five wins and a second place finish. In Wednesday's tri-meet against Bryn Mawr and Elizabethtown, the senior won the 50-yard freestyle (26.41) and 100-yard freestyle (1:04.54) and posted a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. On Friday, Brown won the 50-yard freestyle (25.89) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:19.67) and was on the winning 200-yard medley relay to lead Cabrini to a win over PSU-Altoona.

    Armstrong was a triple event winner to pace the women's team to a victory over Penn St. Altoona. She won the 50 back (34.73), the 50 fly (30.92), and the 100 back (1:11.18). She was also part of the winning 200 medley relay in 2:06.46.

    Tohill scored a 146.03 in her first round of 1-meter dives and a 167.70 in her second round of 1-meter dives. Tohill's points helped clinch the team win over Hiram.

    Booz notched two individual first places while helping her team win a relay event during the Lady Lions' win over Bethany on Saturday. She won the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:14.04, and she later came in first place in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:23.65. In the 400 Yard Medley Relay, Emily and her teammates combined for a time of 4:53.68 to come in first place.

    Tohill's dives helped clinch the overall Lady Baron win over Penn St. Altoona ... scored 125.85 in her first set of 1-meter dives ... scored 162.00 in her second set of 1-meter dives.

    Lewis was a triple individual event winner to lead the women's team. She won the 1,000 free in 11:58.15, the 100 free in 58.69, and the 500 free in 5:44.63. Her result in the 1,000 and 500 set new school NCAA era records. She was also part of the winning 400 free relay team.
