LOWERY, STEVENS, AND BYE HEADLINE WOMEN'S SWIMMING ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Penn St. Behrend senior Gwen Lowery was named the AMCC Swimmer of the Year for the second time in the past three years. Lowery helped the Lions finish runner up at the championship meet. She was a part of eight records, setting four individual and winning two individual events at the AMCC meet. Lowery broke two records leading off the winning 800 free relay and then the relay broke four more. She won the 200 IM and 400 IM, while swimming on three winning relays.

Alfred State College sophomore Sarah Stevens earned Diver of the Year honors. Stevens took home the titles in both the 1m and 3m competition last weekend at the AMCC championships. She scored 368.45 to win the 3m and 324.90 to win the 1m. Her score of 368.45 is a new school record in the 11-dive format on the 3m board. 

Penn State Altoona women's swimming claimed the AMCC's Newcomer of the Year for the second season in a row, as freshman Danielle Bye took the honor this year by finishing with the most points of any first-year women's swimmer during the AMCC Championships. In day two of the AMCCs, Bye set a Penn State Altoona team record in the 200 Yard I.M. when she clocked in at 2:18.92 to place second in that 'A' final. In day three, she set another team record when she claimed the runner-up spot in the 100 Yard Butterfly 'A' final with a time of 1:00.69. Bye capped her week by tying for third place in the 100 Yard Freestyle 'A' final with a time of 56.26 during the final day of the championships.

Cabrini University head coach Cindy Ikeler has been tabbed as the AMCC Women's Swimming Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her career. This season, Ikeler led the Cavaliers to their second conference title, and their first crown since 2014.
