Pioneers Fall In Home Opener

Alfred, NY- Alfred State Men's Basketball second half rally was not enough against Clark Summit as they fell 64-61. The Pioneers drop to 0-2 on the season.

Paris Jamison led the way with 25 points and eight steals. Michael Miller was also in double figures with 13 points. Ryan Rosa finished the game with five points, five assists, and nine rebounds.

Emmanuel Leftenant opened the game with a three and Jamison followed with a layup. The Defender would go on a run to take a 22-15 lead. From there Jamison made a layup and a free throw before Clark Summit took a 29-21 lead into half.

The Pioneers went on an 8-2 run to start the half a cut the deficit to two 31-29. A little bit later in the half, back-to-back threes from Miller and Cody Schneider tied the game at 41-41. Then four free throws from Jamison and two from Schneider gave ASC the 47-43 lead and forced a Clarks Summit timeout. Later in the second half, following a Jake Dignan timeout the Pioneers trailed 60-58, Miller put in a three for the lead. The Defenders answered with a layup to regain the lead. From there Clarks Summit extended the lead to 64-61 on free throws, which gave the Pioneers a chance to tie the game with a three. The Defenders played great defense to force a miss and get the win.
