BEHREND, NOLA TAKE TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WOMEN CROSS COUNTRY TITLES

The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team picked up their 11th team title Saturday morning on the campus of Alfred State College at the AMCC Cross Country Championship. This marked the Lions fifth championship since 2015.

The Lions took first with a score of 19. Alfred State scored a 60 in the race to take second in the team standings. Hilbert College was third (65 points) and Medaille College was fourth (66 points). Runners from Pitt-Greensburg, Mt. Aloysius College, and La Roche University also competed.

Behrend freshman Olivia Nola earned the individual title with a time of 26:57.43 on the 6K course, finishing nearly two minutes between her and second-place finisher. Lion sophomore Izzy Spires was second, crossing the finish line in 28:42.15.

Medaille College junior Erin Hardick finished in third place with 28:47.39. Rounding out the top five were Behrend's Jessie Johnson (29:29.08) and Emily Ferrans (30:10.42). 

The NCAA Regionals will take place on November 13 in Castile, NY at Letchworth State Park. The NCAA Division III Championship Race will be held in Louisville, KY at E.P "Tom" Sawyer State Park on November 20.
