The AMCC Women's Volleyball Game of the Week features the Alfred State College Pioneers traveling to Altoona, PA to take on the Lions of Penn State Altoona. Both teams enter the game in a four-way tie for first place with Penn State Behrend and Wells College, as all four teams sit at 5-1 in AMCC play.

Alfred State enters the Game of the Week on a four game win streak, with three of those games coming in conference play. The Pioneers most recently picked up wins over AMCC foes Pitt-Greensburg, Wells, and La Roche University, after dropping their only conference game of the season to Behrend on Oct. 11. Alfred State OH Racquel Gerstenberger leads the Pioneers, and ranks second in the conference, with 3.70 kills per set. Setter Nayomie Ferrer Santiago leads the league with 0.99 service aces per set and also ranks second with 8.48 assists per set, while also leading her team with 3.26 digs per set. Middle Hitter Erin Gregoire ranks third in the AMCC with a .298 hitting percentage. 

Penn State Altoona hosts AMCC opponent Alfred State on Saturday morning in the Lions’ final home match of the regular season. Penn State Altoona’s defense has been a big key to its success this season, and the Lions lead the conference in digs (1,488) and digs per set (20.38), spearheaded by five-time AMCC Defensive Player of the Week junior libero Anna Batrus, who is second in the league in digs per set (5.44) and fourth in total digs (381). At the net, junior middle Makenna Port is third in the conference in solo blocks (20) while being fifth in total blocks (47) and blocks per set (0.68). Offensively, freshman outside hitter Lia Simanski is sixth in points per set (3.2) while averaging 2.91 kills per set, and senior outside Lacee Barnhart is 15th in points per set (2.6) while averaging 2.11 kills per set. Junior middle Taylor Myers has also contributed to the scoring, being third on the team in points per set (2.1).
