The Mount Aloysius College women's volleyball team will travel to Aurora, NY on Saturday to take on Wells College in the AMCC Game of the Week. The Mounties and Express both enter the matchup with identical 3-1 conference records and are tied for third place in conference standings.

After a tough start to the season, the Mounties seem to have found their footing, opening up conference play with a 3-1 record and winning their last two games. Mount Aloysius is led by sophomore OH Molly Richards, last season's AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Richards leads the AMCC in kills per set and total kills, while also being in the top five in both digs per set and total digs, showcasing her versatility. Offensively, she leads a group of hitters who rank third in the AMCC in hitting percentage, led by freshman MH Mackenzie Barr, who is hitting .294 on the season and ranks fourth in the conference. Sophomore DS/L Kadence Della Valle helps to anchor the defense, as she also ranks in the AMCC's top five in total digs, giving the Mounties two of the top four. They will look to break a three-way tie with Penn State Behrend and Alfred State on Saturday in their first conference meeting with Wells.

Wells opened conference play with three straight conference wins in which two of them were on the road. The Express took down the Hilbert Hawks and Pitt-Greensburg in three straight sets. The Carlow Celtics forced four sets against the Express but fell 3-1 in Pittsburgh. This win streak placed Wells in first place in conference standings with a 3-0 conference record. On Wednesday, Alfred State came to Wells and presented the largest challenge yet for the Express. The Pioneers took down the Express in a fifth set knocking Wells down to fourth place in the standings heading into their weekend match up against the Mount. Wells is led by senior MH Miah Williamson who averages 2.75 kills per set with 198 total kills which ranks her fifth overall in the conference. Williamson and Marta Corral Cajigas are ranked second (.319) and fifth (.274) in hitting percentage in the conference as well. Williamson also is third in the conference in blocks per set (.75). The Express benefit from a mix of returning players like Lexi Carfi, Roosa Armstead Lehti, Brianah Dawson and Elayna McDermott while getting big contributions from newcomers Alycia Wilson, Elise Peacock, Sarina Soto, and Marta Corral Cajigas.
