KARADUS TABBED PITT-GREENSBURG HEAD WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL COACH

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and Athletic Director Tony Berich are happy to announce that Clay Karadus has been named the Head Women's Volleyball Coach.

Karadus replaces Kylynn Smith who left to pursue other opportunities outside the sport.

Karadus has spent over seven years coaching volleyball at the high school level. Karadus started his coaching journey as an Assistant Girls' Volleyball Coach at St. Mary's High School in St. Mary's, Pa. During his time with the Flying Dutch, Karadus helped guide St. Mary's to the District IX Tournament title. Karadus also served as an assistant coach with both the football and wrestling teams, while working at the high school.

Following his time at St. Mary's, Karadus became the Head Boys and Girls Volleyball Coach at Woodland Hills High School and also worked as an Assistant Coach with the Wrestling Program for the Wolverines.

After coaching volleyball at Woodland Hills for five seasons, Karadus was named the Head Boys and Girls Volleyball Coach as well as Head Wrestling Coach at Steel Valley High School. At Steel Valley, Karadus guide the girls' volleyball team into the WPIAL Playoffs and reestablished the defunct boys' volleyball program. While working with the Ironmen, Karadus became the first in school history to coach a WPIAL Finalist as well as an Allegheny County place winner.

After departing Steel Valley, Karadus developed the Wrestling Program at Penn State Greater Allegheny. In five seasons with the Lions, Karadus recruited a United States Collegiate Athletic Association Academic All-American and had four wrestlers qualify for the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Tournament.

Karadus currently teaches seventh grade social studies at Steel Valley and resides in North Huntington with his wife and children.
