PENN STATE ALTOONA EARNS TOP SEED, HOSTING RIGHTS FOR WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

In a tight race all season long for the AMCC women's volleyball regular season title, Penn State Altoona and Pitt-Bradford each finished the regular season with conference-best 7-2 records. With the Lady Lions prevailing 3-2 over the Panthers head-to-head on September 23, Penn State Altoona was crowned the regular season champion and thus earned the top seed and hosting rights for the conference tournament.

Penn State Altoona (13-12, 7-2 AMCC) sophomore OH Lauren Diller has led the charge for the Lady Lions, ranking fourth in the conference with 249 total kills and is sixth with 2.71 kills per set. Junior OH Kelsey Bristol leads the team with 3.45 digs per set, while freshman S Lauren Moran is sixth in the AMCC with 5.49 assist per set.

#2 Pitt-Bradford (14-12, 7-2 AMCC) gets a league-leading 0.85 blocks per set from senior OH/MH Erin Fagan. Junior S Payton Orzech is second in the conference with 7.13 assists per set, while freshman DS Lauren Hildebrand is third in total digs (429) and fourth in digs per set (4.93).

Third-seed Penn State Behrend (16-11, 6-3 AMCC) boasts a balanced attack, as senior MH Kylie McSwaney has a conference-leading 0.55 service aces per set and sophomore MH Alex Parra is second with .76 blocks per set. Senior S Hannah Saunders is second with a .280 hitting percentage and has a third-best 7.08 assists per set. 

#4 La Roche College (11-17, 6-3 AMCC) will be counting on junior OH Laura Nath and sophomore L Hannah Scott to lead them through the postseason. Nath is tops in the conference with 312 total kills and 3.22 kills per set, while Scott leads the way with 585 digs and 6.03 digs per set. Sophomore MH Janet Aland ranks fourth in the conference with 0.67 blocks per set.

#5 D'Youville College (12-14, 5-4 AMCC) senior S Abby Booth ranks third in the AMCC with 0.52 service aces per set and is ninth with 4.16 assists per set. Senior DS Alexandra Bubar is seventh with 4.22 digs per set, while senior OH Kendyll Smith is ninth with 2.37 kills per set.

Rounding out the field is sixth seed Mount Aloysius College (13-16, 5-4 AMCC). Mountie junior MH Sarah Fisher ranks second in kills (292) and kills per set (3.14), while freshman DS Kylee Clawson is second in digs (508) and digs per set (5.58). Fisher is also tops in the league in hitting percentage, swinging at a .332 clip.

First round games will take place on Wednesday, November 1 at 7pm with #6 Mount Aloysius at #3 Penn State Behrend and #5 D'Youville at #4 La Roche.
