VOLLEYBALL SEASONS COME TO A CLOSE

The 2014 volleyball season for the AMCC teams participating in post-season tournaments has come to a close.

AMCC conference tournament champions Franciscan University (13-17) faced Juniata College (28-7) in the NCAA Tournament, but the Eagles were too much to handle. The Lady Barons could not find an answer to the strong offense of Juniata College, losing in their first ever NCAA appearance in straight sets, 14-25, 9-25, and 14-25.

Penn St. Altoona (16-14) fell to Geneva in three sets in the first round of the ECAC Tournament. The Lady Lions kept things close but were dealt tough losses in the first two sets, as Geneva prevailed 27-25 and 26-24 before posting a commanding 25-14 win in the match-clinching third set.

Bethany College (26-13), the four-time defending ECAC Champions, also defeated Penn State Behrend (19-13) in three straight sets. The Bison took down the Lions 25-13, 25-15, 25-20 in the first round of the ECAC South Region Tournament.
