PITT BRADFORD'S TAYLOR McMILLEN NAMED AVCA ALL-REGION HONORABLE MENTION

One day after being named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Volleyball Player of the Year, senior right-side hitter Taylor McMillen has been named an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region Honorable Mention.

McMillen becomes just the second player in the history of the Pitt-Bradford volleyball program to receive the honor. Jackie Podrasky was the first following the conclusion of the 2010 season.

Along with receiving the Player of the Year honor, McMillen was also selected to the All-AMCC First Team from her right-side hitter position. For the year, she ranked first in the conference in total kills (424), second in kills per set (3.39) and second in hitting percentage (.268). She also finished first on the Panthers’ roster in each category as well.

McMillen’s best performance of the season came at Penn State Altoona on Oct. 18, where she racked up 25 kills to go with one service ace, two digs and two block assists. For her career, McMillen ranks fourth in Pitt-Bradford history with a total of 1,194 kills. She is first in attack attempts (3,047), fourth in points (1,420.5) and sixth in points per set (3.11). She also ranks at the top of chart in total matches played (124) and sets played (457).
