Penn State Behrend senior defender Ava Michael has been named to the NCAA Division III Women's Scholar All-East Region Second Team, while Pitt-Greensburg junior Tiffany Michalek picked up Third Team honors..

Michael, a three-year starter for the Lions, is earning this honor for the first time in her career. She boasts a 3.86 grade-point average and is majoring in psychology. Michael was named to the USC All-Region second team and garnered AMCC Defensive Player of the Year honors. She is a three-time All-AMCC selection, landing on the first team for a second time in three years. This season, Michael helped Behrend surrender only six goals in 21 games and register 16 shutouts. She started in 19 contests and led the team with eight assists. Michael is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and has been named to the Academic All-AMCC team four years.

Michalek, a senior and four year player for the Bobcats, carries a 3.40 GPA in Biological Sciences. She was named to the USC All-Region third team and was an AMCC all-conference first team selection. Michalek finished first in the AMCC in goals, assists, points and shots. Her 22 goals this season, eight goals more than the next closest player, finish as the third most in the Pitt-Greensburg Women's Soccer Program history for goals in a season. Her 54 points finish second in program history for points in a season. She was one of the leaders that helped lead the Bobcats to its first AMCC Title and helped guide the team to its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
