BURGUNDER, SCHELL PICK UP WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-REGION HONORS

Pitt-Greensburg's Bri Burgunder and Mount Aloysius College's Summer Schell each earned all-region accolades from the United Soccer Coaches organization on Monday evening.

Burgunder earned AMCC first team all-conference accolades for a third-consecutive season and was named to the Great Lakes All Region Third Team. Burgunder started all nine AMCC games for the Bobcats in 2018 and led the team with four goals, three assists, for 11 points. The senior midfielder posted a team-best 31 shots, 18 of which she put on goal. Burgunder ended the regular-season ranked top-10 in the AMCC in all three major offensive statistics (goals, assists, points) and of the four goals she scored in conference play, three were game-winning strikes.

Schell, who earned AMCC first-team all-conferences honors, was named to the Great Lakes All Region team for the second time after earning the same honors following her freshman campaign. She was placed on the Great Lakes All Region Third Team at the defender position. Schell started all 19 games for a Mountie defense that allowed just 16 goals all season. On the offensive end, she contributed four goals and two assists for 10 points to finish fourth on the team in scoring. Included in Schell's goals was a free kick equalizer in the second half of an eventual victory over conference opponent Franciscan University that gave the Mounties a top-two finish in the conference for the second straight season
