WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Alfred State JR Sean Malenfant claimed the 184-bracket title at the New Standard Invite over the weekend. He took down Eamonn Callaghan (Ithaca) with a fall in 2:25. In his next match, Malenfant got the 1:55 fall over Luca Romasco (York). In his final match of the day, he took down Nicholas Hall (Delaware Valley) in 1:17 to advance to the semifinals. Then on day two, he notched a 9-2 decision win over Rylan Moose (Marymount). Then in the final he would get a 15-8 decision win over 10th ranked Joel Martsinovsky (Stevens). Malenfant notched an escape followed by a takedown in the first period, before getting a takedown a two-point near-fall in the second round. In the third period, Malenfant tallied two escapes, and a takedown to secure the 184-bracket title.

  

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend SR Peyton Hearn was runner up at 149 this weekend at the RIT Invitational. He recorded four straight wins to get to the championship bout with a technical fall, pin, medical forfeit and a major decision. The senior fell to Tyler Rossini of Oswego, 4-2, to finish second overall and earn 20.5 team points...Penn FR Travis Green placed third individually at 165 pounds at the RIT Invite leading the Wildcats to their first tournament team title with a team-best 20.5 points on day. Green started with two first period pins over RIT and Williams before falling in the quarterfinals. Green capped his day with two wins over John Carroll and Williams before finishing the tournament with two medical forfeit victories to place third.
