WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Penn College FR Travis Green went 3-0 at 165 pounds for the Wildcats at the John Reese Duals on Sunday, pushing his team-leading wins total to 32-13 in his freshman campaign. Green collected two first-period falls over Ayden DeForest (Oneonta) and Trevor DuBoff (Wilkes) before closing out an impressive day by upsetting Konrad Parker (Ithaca), 9-6. Parker, ranked third in the latest Northeast Region poll tech falled Green during the first weekend of the season before Green flipped the script on Sunday.

 

BEST OF THE REST: Pitt-Bradford SR Colton Gietler won the 174 lb weight class at the Jamestown Open on Sunday, going a perfect 4-0 on the day. He started with a 16-0 win by tech fall and then pinned his next opponent in 44 seconds. He earned a spot in the championship bout with a 14-4 major decision win in the semifinal. In the final, he won a hard-fought match by a 5-4 decision to secure the championship...Alfred State SR Blake Ilges won the 197 bracket after going 3-0. After a first round bye, Ilges got a 20-9 major decision win over Simeon Hunte (Lackawanna College). Then in the semifinals, he notched a second-round fall over Eddie Farrell (Gannon). In the 1st place match, Ilges notched a 12-3 major decision win over Brett Wittmann (Unattached). In the dual agaisnt Williams, Blake Ilges opened the dual with a first period fall over David LaPrade in 1:27 to take a 6-0 lead. Ilges also clinched a 20-2 tech fall victory in 2:47 over Elias Chen...PS-Behrend FR Jake Brown went 4-2 on the week, collecting a technical fall win on Saturday night vs. Ohio Wesleyan and then placing fourth at 141 at the JCC Open. He started the day with a pair of pins at JCC, taking down his opponents in 2:13 and 0:45. Brown then dropped to the consolation bracket and then got his third pin of the day (1:43) to advance to the third-place match. Brown fell by one point (D, 12-11) to finish 3-2 on the day.
