WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Alfred State SR Elijah Moshenek (133/141) opened the 2025 portion of the season with a 17-2 tech fall win over Kevin Sevigny (Springfield). He followed with a first period fall in two minutes over Devin Morrissette (Springfield Technical Community College). Moshenek followed with a 7-2 decision win in the simi-finals against John Schneider of Williams College, to advance to the first-place match. In the first-place match, Moshenek picked up a 5-1 over Botensky Bauzile (Hunter College) to take the 133-bracket title. Prior to the holiday break, Moshenek also picked up dual match victories against Pitt-Bradford and Brockport on December 14. 

 

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend FR Rudy Brown (157) was undefeated at the Kalahari Duals for the Lions on Dec. 14. Brown collected four different wins; decision, major decision, technical fall and pin to post a 4-0 record. The freshman, wrestling at 157, pinned Rylee Nealeigh of Mt. St. Joseph in one minute, before earning a 17-10 decision vs. Ramiro Guerrero of Olivet. He then posted a 10-2 major decision and the lone win for Behrend against Olivet and ending with a 17-2 technical fall over Ryan Forrest of John Carroll...Penn SO Kaden Ware (133) posted a 3-2 record with three tech fall victories at the Wilkes Open. Ware started his day with back-to-back 19-4 tech falls over Zander Nuttall of Saint Vincent and Thomas Clark of The Apprentice School to reach the quarterfinals. In the round of 8, Ware suffered a 10-7 overtime decision to Jarvis Little of DI Appalachian State before posting another 18-2 tech fall in the consolation bracket. Ware's day finished with an overtime defeat of SUNY Oneonta assistant coach, Anthony Romero.
